IPF.ASIA 2012 @ Judith Wright Centre

Judith Wright Centre artist's impression

We’re excited to announce that IPF.ASIA 2012 will be held at the amazing Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts.

The Judith Wright Centre is a fantastic venue located on the fringe of Brisbane’s CBD with amazing performance and rehearsal spaces. It’s just the right size for our sophomore year and we’re sure every delegate will feel right at home.

And the hole-in-the-wall foyer coffee shop is just ace …

Why .ASIA?

We’ve already received a few queries here at IPF HQ asking why Asia is in our title?

The answer is simply that we have a grand vision for this conference. We want to see IPF.ASIA become the leading event for publishing professionals in the Asia Pacific region. There are plenty of avenues for authors to chat about the art of writing, but very few for independent professionals (including indie authors) to not just talk business but also close deals.

We’re starting small, in a city that isn’t the centre of publishing in Australia. But we believe we can grow IPF.ASIA over the next half decade into an event of regional importance.

If you’d like to join us on the journey, tickets will be on sale soon.

IPF.ASIA 2012 theme announced

A good conference should have a theme, something that helps you decide whether the content is relevant to your publishing career. With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce that our 2012 theme is New York, New York.

We’d like to see 2012 become the year of exporting Australia/New Zealand literary works, and so we’re focused on the North American market. IPF.ASIA 2012 is here to help you learn the ins and outs of working Stateside.

We promised 2012 would be bigger, better and global … check the speakers page over the coming weeks to see just how global!

What’s in a name?

In 2010 Red Hill Publishing launched the inaugural Publishing Boot Camp. In 2012 we’re taking the event to an entirely new level. This year will be bigger, better and global.

And we’re rebranding the event. Say hello to Independent Publishing Forum ASIA.

If you’re inclined, check out where we started.
